Brian D Price

Brian D. Price grew up near the Grand River in Waterloo, where time on the water and along the shoreline sparked an early love of nature. In his late teens he discovered wilderness canoeing, beginning with a two-week trip to La Vérendrye Provincial Park in Québec. That experience led to decades of near-annual trips into the backcountry, often deep in northern waterways and whitewater routes.

Now living in the North, Price paints from the places he once hoped to explore. His work reflects the waterways he has travelled and the landscapes found off the beaten path. He aims to capture the beauty of northern nature in a fresh way, avoiding the familiar postcard look, and inviting viewers to connect with both remote places and scenes they may recognize.
